Happy birthday Rossini!!

Today is the 220 anniversary of the birth of the most popular opera composer in history, Gioachino Rossini.
Born into a family of musicians, he wrote his first opera when he was a youth of 14 years old.
From his twenty years old he wrote more than fourty operas; during the first representation of his works he gained contrasting reviews from the audience, ranging from extraordinary success like La pietra del paragone, La gazza ladra, Zelmira and Semiramide, to resounding failures, for example, The Barber of Seville, was a colossal failure when it premiered as Almaviva; Paisiello’s admirers were extremely indignant, sabotaging the production by whistling and shouting during the entire first act. However, not long after the second performance, the opera became so successful that the fame of Paisiello’s opera was transferred to Rossini’s, to which the title The Barber of Seville passed as an inalienable heritage.
Limenmusic pays tribute to this great Italian artist into the new album of Fabrizio Meloni, First Solo clarinet of the Orchestra and the philarmonica of La Scala Theatre in Milan, since 1984, and the talented pianist Takahiro Yoshikawa: Across virtuosity.
In this album, entirely dedicated to Fantasie for clarinet and piano that move from operatic melodies, we proposed a Fantasia from Semiramide written by Ferdinando Sebastiani, called by Rossini: “Le pére des clarinettes“, in 1838, in the middle of the “belcanto” season.

About Burgmüller Complete Etudes…

Here you can find a review (in Italian version) about the latest album of the Japanese pianist Aki Kuroda , entirely dedicated to Burgmüller complete etudes, published on Brescia Oggi.

About “Across virtuosity”…

Here you can find a review (in Italian version) about the new album of M°Fabrizio Meloni, First Solo clarinet of the Orchestra and the philarmonica of La Scala Theatre in Milan, since 1984 and the talented Japanese pianist M° Takahiro Yoshikawa published on Brescia Oggi magazine.

Anna Menichetti presents Takahiro Yoshikawa’s album – The podcast

Anna Menichetti presents the latest album of the talented Japanese pianist Takahiro Yoshikawa, entirely dedicated to colors and suggestions of the night.

Go to the podcast (only Italian version)

Takahiro Yoshikawa, young and talented Japanese pianist, took his first steps into the world of music in his homeland, before moving to Italy, where he made himself well known, as a winner of many international competitions, playing in the most important halls (included the Teatro alla Scala in Milan), as a soloist and with high-level chamber groups.Given the exiting successes of his first album, published in 2009, devoted to Frèdéric Chopin’w works, Limen music & arts proposes a new discographical production (CD+DVD), where Takahiro Yoshikawa performs pieces dedicated to the suggestions of the night, readind it in a new, and deeply original, key, infact all the works refer to the same “black” key, in which the fingers more often caress the keyboard rather than strike it.
Thanks to his deep and attractive interpretation, this artist take us in a intimate path through images, colours and emotions of the night, drowing to leading composers of the Nineteenth century: L. van Beethoven, Frédéric Chopin, Franz Liszt and Maurice Ravel, to create an album of unparalleled beauty.

Limen music & arts proposes to the audience the complete collection of the Etudes for piano Op. 100, 105 and 109 composed by J. F. F. Burgmüller, for the first time available in video, interpreted by great musician, worldwide appreciated as a performer, but also as a teacher: Aki Kuroda.

A wonderful production, not only for the expressive melody lines and the marvellous images evoked by the intensive and reliable executions of this extraordinary Japanese pianist, but also for the educational value linked to this work.
Burgmuller was born as a piano teacher, and his studies have always been used in schools around the world for the education, not only of young composers, but of all age groups.
In addition to the famous three etudes, this album contains two other works by Burgmüller: Fantaisie Brillante Op. 92, based on the opera Ernani by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi, and Souvenir de Ratisbonne Op.67, a light and beautiful waltz used in Adolphe-Charles Adam’s famous ballet Giselle.
