Takahiro Yoshikawa in Concert

The young and talented Japanese pianist will perform:

Gaspard de la Nuit (Ondine – Le Gibet – Scarbo)

Chopin
Nocturne No. 8 in D-flat major Op. 27-2
Polonaise No. 6 in A-flat major Op. 53 “Heroic”

Liszt
Consolation No. 3 in D-flat major S. 172-3
Mephisto Waltz No. 1 S. 514

The execution of Ravel, will be accompanied by a reading of poems by Aloysius Bertrand (1807 – 1841), a French poet considered the inventor of the prose poem. In the 1842 he wrote his posthumous work: Gaspard de la Nuit, from which Maurice Ravel drew inspiration to write his triptych for piano in 1908: Gaspard de la Nuit.
